Welcome to Y Ganolfan
Porthmadog Community Centre, aka Y Ganolfan, is located at the top of the High Street near the picturesque harbour. It is the only venue of its size in the area offering a range of cultural activities and events and is a hub for local organisations. Recently Y Ganolfan opened its community cinema. But the venue is more than a building - it's the cultural heart of the community and we're proud to promote the Welsh language and Porthmadog's heritage.
Cinema
The Coliseum was an important cultural hub in Porthmadog & in its hayday it even hosted the odd première complete with red carpet! The Coliseum has long been demolished but this year saw the launch of a community cinema at Y Ganolfan to screen films on the big screen - as they should be seen - and to bring people together to socialise.
